Full Job Description

GRITT Business Coaching has been contracted to find the ideal Accountant for Alliance Water Resources.

This role is ideal for someone who can work independently, manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and take ownership of accurate financial reporting for both the company and its clients.

What You’ll Do

As an Accountant, you’ll work closely with the Accounting Manager while having the autonomy to manage a variety of accounting responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

Prepare and issue monthly financial statements for clients
Calculate and record monthly accruals
Enter and review cash receipts and disbursements
Prepare and process journal entries
Prepare special financial and management reports
Prepare and issue annual IRS Form 1099s for applicable clients
Maintain the company’s fixed asset system, including asset additions, deletions, and depreciation schedules
Prepare monthly bank reconciliations for corporate bank accounts
Assist with scheduling and preparing for annual financial statement audits
Prepare audit schedules and supporting documentation and respond to auditor inquiries
Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual federal and state payroll tax returns
Prepare and issue W-2s for applicable client Board Members
Maintain accurate and confidential financial records
Assist with additional accounting responsibilities and projects as needed

What We’re Looking For

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business Administration with an emphasis in Accounting, or a related field
2–5 years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of accounting principles, financial reporting, reconciliations, and recordkeeping
Experience with Microsoft Office and business software, particularly spreadsheet and word-processing applications
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Ability to organize information, proofread work, and identify discrepancies
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with employees, clients, auditors, and leadership
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
High level of professionalism and discretion when handling confidential information
Ability to follow established procedures while using sound judgment when situations require problem-solving
Valid state driver’s license

You’ll thrive in this position if you enjoy digging into financial details, keeping information organized, solving problems, and making sure the numbers are right. You’re comfortable taking responsibility for your work, communicating with clients and colleagues, and managing deadlines without needing constant direction.

This position primarily works in an office environment and requires regular use of computers and standard office equipment.
