Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Connections Specialist serves as a primary point of contact for individuals seeking assistance through Love Columbia’s Connections Program. This position is responsible for responding to inquiries, conducting screenings, coordinating services, maintaining accurate records, and supporting participants through referral and service navigation.

This role requires strong interpersonal skills, reliability, sound judgment, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, service-oriented environment.

Essential Functions and Duties

Program and Client Services

· Communicate Love Columbia’s mission and programs to community members and partner organizations

· Receive, monitor, and respond to incoming requests for assistance

· Conduct screening interviews to determine eligibility for services

· Collect documentation and conduct verifications

· Provide Connections services to eligible participants

· Provide information and referrals to community partners

· Coordinate services across internal programs and external agencies

· Link individuals to appropriate services and resources

· Facilitate communication between departments and partner agencies

· Offer prayer & emotional support when appropriate & consistent with organizational values

Data and Documentation

· Maintain accurate and timely records in the contact log and database systems

· Ensure proper data entry, documentation, and confidentiality

· Support reporting and quality assurance efforts

Physical and Mobility Requirements

· Ability to walk throughout the facility and escort participants to program areas as needed

· Ability to stand and move for extended periods during the workday

· Ability to perform duties requiring regular physical presence in the workplace

· Ability to lift and carry materials up to 25 pounds

Attendance and Scheduling Expectations

· Maintain regular, reliable, and punctual attendance

· Adhere to established work schedules and timekeeping procedures

· Submit time-off and schedule adjustment requests in accordance with organizational policy

· Provide advance notice for foreseeable absences whenever possible

These duties are representative, but not all inclusive. Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

· Bachelor’s degree in social work, education, psychology, social services, or related field preferred, or equivalent related work experience

· Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office and database platforms

· Excellent organizational and time management skills

· Demonstrated ability to manage a high volume of client inquiries and service requests

· Strong data management and documentation skills

· Commitment to Love Columbia’s mission, values, and faith-informed service model

· Ability to work collaboratively within interdisciplinary teams

· Awareness of challenges faced by individuals experiencing poverty and instability

· Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and listening skills

· Knowledge of community resources in the Columbia area preferred

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, benefits-eligible position. Compensation is commensurate with experience and qualifications.
