Full Job Description

Job Responsibilities

Do you thrive in a fast-paced environment? Are you ready put your management and leadership skills to use? If so, the Department of Motor Vehicles may have a position for you as an Assistant Office Supervisor.

This position is in the Vehicle Services / Titles & Registration Research Unit, at SCDMV Headquarters in Blythewood, S.C.

Responsibilities of the Assistant Office Supervisor III

Supervise all aspects of the assigned work in the work units: effective planning, issuing, tracking and monitoring the workflow assigned to employees along with monitoring employees leave and attendance ensuring it entered and approved in SCEIS correctly. Reporting, monitoring, delegating work to employee's while maintaining a tracking log of work received and issued. Ensuring that weekly reports are done on time and accurately.

Ensures all work is processed with five business days upon receipt.

Resolves complex problems and answer complex questions related to the department.

Able to perform all tasks required to be done by Titles & Registration Specialist.

Ensuring all employees are crossed trained.

Interprets laws, policy and procedures; recommends changes as needed to continuously improve department performance.

Supervise the screening, interviews, selection of new employees, along with processing of the planning stages, quarterly and yearly evaluations of all employees by their due date. Responsible for mentoring, coaching and developing of all assigned staff.

Monitors equipment and inventory of all DMV property.

Completes and maintain end of the day reports for financial transactions including ensuring all employee's monies balance daily and prepare the deposit for the bank. Ensuring that all scanned work is turned in daily, along with backout, line voids and overrides; must be signed and filed daily.

Performs other related duties as required.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

Minimum Requirements

A high school diploma and relevant program experience.

Additional Requirements

In-depth knowledge of South Carolina vehicle laws and regulations.
In-depth knowledge of SC DMV policies and regulations and is able to use that knowledge to train and mentor Title & Registration Specialist.
Ability to understand and explain complex DMV policies and procedures to employees and customer along with in depth knowledge of DMV Phoenix system.
Ability to train, coach, and direct agents for the purpose of quality control and development.
Employee works under general supervision by the Vehicle Research Manager of Titles and Registration; however, has moderate amount of independence and discretion.
Responsible for supervising multiple employees within the department.
Works in a general office environment.
May be required to work extended hours outside of the normal scheduled work week.
Must be able to lift 10-15 lbs.
May be required to travel to court and meetings.

Preferred Qualifications

A high school diploma and three (3) years related job experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
