Full Job Description

Cosmich is seeking an experienced and highly motivated Litigation Paralegal to join our well-established law firm with nine offices nationwide. This position offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys on complex litigation matters while collaborating with clients, claims professionals, co-counsel, and court personnel across multiple jurisdictions.

Position Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Prepare, format, proofread, and file pleadings, motions, discovery, correspondence, and other legal documents.
Draft and compile discovery requests and responses.
Manage litigation matters and motion practice across multiple jurisdictions.
Coordinate the service and filing of legal documents with courts and opposing counsel.
Maintain and organize electronic document management systems.
Schedule and coordinate court appearances, depositions, mediations, appointments, and client meetings.
Manage and maintain case calendars, including court-ordered deadlines and case management orders.
Coordinate with co-counsel throughout the United States on jurisdiction-specific litigation matters.
Serve as a liaison between attorneys, clients, claims representatives, experts, and other parties involved in litigation.
Monitor case progress and assist attorneys throughout the life cycle of each case.
Support attorneys with trial preparation and case management activities.
Ensure consistent and professional communication among all parties involved in litigation matters.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Minimum of 3 years of paralegal experience in a litigation practice.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong organizational, document management, and multitasking abilities.
Exceptional time management skills with the ability to meet multiple deadlines.
Ability to prioritize workload and work independently with minimal supervision.
Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Teams.
Experience with Teams, Zoom or other virtual meeting platforms.
Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
Willingness to thrive in a fast-paced, continuous-learning environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Associate Degree or higher.
Paralegal Certificate or Certification, preferably with a litigation focus.
Experience in Personal Injury Defense Litigation.
Experience handling Toxic Tort Litigation.
Advanced knowledge of complex litigation matters.
Experience maintaining electronic document management systems.
Strong knowledge of pleadings, including answers, motions, notices, briefs, and discovery.
Experience managing calendars and deadlines across multiple jurisdictions.
Familiarity with case management orders and court-ordered deadlines.
Experience coordinating with co-counsel nationwide.
