Full Job Description

South Carolina Bridge Design and Rehabilitation Lead

Kisinger Campo & Associates, Corp. (KCA) is seeking a Bridge Design and Rehabilitation Lead for one of our South Carolina offices, located in Columbia, Charleston, or Rock Hill.

Responsibilities:

Leading the South Carolina bridge design and rehabilitation practice
Preparing design calculations, construction plans, and technical reports while coordinating with roadway, geotechnical, and hydraulic disciplines
Designing and producing plans for transportation-related projects from preliminary to final design including specifications, quantities, cost estimates, and final bid packages, and coordinating with the design team to ensure project completion within defined schedule, budget, and quality
Assist in reviewing shop drawings, performing field inspections, and resolving design issues during construction
Work at this level requires the candidate to be a proactive, self-starter that is willing to work with a team of engineers on projects throughout the States of North Carolina and South Carolina
This role requires a solid understanding of applicable AASHTO codes and structural analysis software, with increasing responsibility for project components and quality control

Qualifications:

Experience:

Minimum 10 years of experience required, 15 years preferred
Minimum 5 years of experience working on SCDOT bridge projects is required
South Carolina PE License required
Master’s degree in civil engineering with a structural focus is preferred

Skills:

Competent knowledge of structural engineering principles, practices, delivery methods, and the application to project work-related issues
Knowledge of structural design principles for steel, reinforced concrete, and prestressed concrete for both superstructure and substructure components
Knowledge of SCDOT design standards, SCDOT plans preparation procedures, and geometric control
Knowledge of bridge rehabilitation and preservation principles
Familiarity with practices and procedures for structural detailing
Ability to work on multiple projects in a dynamic, fast-paced team-oriented environment
Experience in using structural analysis and design software – Open Bridge Modeler experience is a plus
Project Management and leadership
