Full Job Description

Position Summary

The Quality Assurance, Compliance & EHS Manager is responsible for developing and continuously improving Manufacturing Quality Assurance, Certification and Customer Compliance, and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) for Petainer Manufacturing USA.

This role will oversee quality systems and operational compliance in Petainer’s TN facility and provide leadership and oversight to Petainer’s CA facility as well. Petainer is ISO9001 and ISO22000 certified, upholding the Quality Management and Food Safety Management Systems are are crucial through leadership, audit readiness, SOP development, and employee training.

Key Responsibilities

1. Quality Assurance & Production Quality

· Lead all quality assurance activities for injection molding, and blow molding.

· Establish, monitor, and continuously improve product quality standards and process controls.

· Develop and maintain quality metrics, KPIs, and reporting systems.

· Analyze production and quality data to identify trends, root causes, and corrective actions.

· Drive reduction of customer complaints, internal defects, scrap, rework, and non-conformances.

· Ensure effective management of non-conforming materials and products.

· Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive action (CAPA) processes.

· Collaborate with Production to improve process capability and product consistency.

· Oversee calibration programs and inspection/testing processes.

2. Quality Management Systems

· Maintain and continuously improve the ISO 9001 Quality Management System.

· Manage document control systems, policies, procedures, and quality records.

· Oversee internal audit programs and management review processes.

· Ensure compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.

· Lead certification audits, surveillance audits, and recertification activities, from both certification bodies and customers.

· Drive continuous improvement initiatives.

3. Food Safety & Compliance

· Maintain compliance with ISO22000, and manage future certification of FSSC22000.

· Lead risk assessments and food safety program reviews.

· Ensure food safety controls are effectively implemented and monitored across all production areas.

· Maintain documentation and records required for certification and regulatory compliance.

4. SOP Development & Training

· Develop, review, update, and implement standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and best practices.

· Establish and maintain a comprehensive training and competency program.

· Ensure all employees are trained on Petainer products and quality standards.

· Conduct training related to quality systems, food safety, safety, and compliance requirements.

5. Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS)

· Lead and maintain comprehensive safety programs for both Tennessee and California locations.

· Ensure compliance with OSHA, and company policies.

· Conduct facility safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments.

· Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses and implement corrective actions.

· Lead hazard communication, lockout/tagout, machine safety, emergency response, and other safety programs.

· Build a safety culture.

6. California Leadership

· Provide quality, compliance, and EHS oversight for Petainer’s facility in California.

· Conduct periodic site visits and audits.

· Standardize systems, procedures, and best practices across facilities.

· Support local leadership team in achieving quality, food safety, and EHS objectives.

· Ensure consistent implementation of corporate standards and certification requirements.

Experience

5+ years experience managing Quality in Manufacturing Plants.
3+ years experience in ISO9001 and 22000 standards. Certification and audit experience preferred.
Proven track record of revamping quality processes and enforcing strict compliance in plants.
Proactive leader able to identify shortcomings and drive change.

Pay: $80,000.00 per year
