LINE49 | RIFLE is looking for a dependable, detail-oriented CNC Machinist / Production Operator to join our manufacturing team in Kalispell, Montana.
This position can range from a production-level CNC operator responsible for running a specific machine or process, to an experienced machinist/programmer capable of independently setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and programming multiple machines across our shop floor.
Compensation is directly tied to skill level and the number of machines/processes you can independently manage.
- Entry / Production Operator: Candidates capable of safely operating one machine or production process with established programs and procedures will generally fall toward the lower end of the range.
- Experienced CNC Machinist: Candidates capable of independently setting up, operating, troubleshooting, and making adjustments across multiple machines will fall within the middle to upper portion of the range.
- Senior Machinist / Programmer: Candidates capable of independently programming, setting up, and operating our Okuma Multus and Haas lathes/mills, troubleshooting machining processes, and supporting or training other operators may qualify for the top end of the range.

- Firearms or precision-component manufacturing
Experience on every machine is not required. We are interested in candidates at multiple skill levels and will compensate accordingly.
Responsibilities
Depending on experience and skill level, responsibilities may include:
- Operate CNC equipment used throughout our rifle barrel and component manufacturing processes
- Load and unload barrel blanks, components, and raw materials
- Follow established machine programs, work instructions, and production procedures
- Perform machine setups and tooling changes appropriate to your level of training
- Make tooling offsets and machining adjustments as required
- Perform routine dimensional and quality inspections using precision measuring equipment
- Monitor machines for tooling wear, dimensional changes, equipment issues, or quality concerns
- Inspect finished operations to ensure components remain within specification
- Maintain accurate production and quality records
- Perform routine machine maintenance and cleaning
- Handle barrel blanks and finished components carefully to prevent damage
- Maintain clean and organized machines, tooling, and work areas
- Troubleshoot machining and production issues within your level of experience
- Work with other members of the production team to maintain efficient workflow
- Immediately report equipment, tooling, dimensional, or quality concerns
Experienced candidates may also be responsible for:
- CNC programming and program optimization
- Independently setting up new or existing jobs
- Programming and operating Haas lathes and mills
- Programming and operating the Okuma Multus
- Troubleshooting machining processes, tooling, feeds, speeds, and production issues
- Improving cycle times and manufacturing efficiency while maintaining quality
- Assisting with process development
- Training and supporting less-experienced operators

CNC Programming Experience
Programming experience is not required for entry-level or production operator candidates, but it is a significant factor in compensation.
Applicants with CNC programming experience should specify:
- Machines and controls they have programmed
- CAD/CAM software experience
- Years of CNC programming experience
- Experience with multi-axis or mill-turn machining
- Machines they can independently set up, program, troubleshoot, and operate
Pre-Employment Requirements: All candidates selected for employment must successfully complete a background check and drug screening prior to beginning work.
Pay: $20.00 - $40.00 per hour
