Full Job Description

The McLarty Automotive Group with 11 dealerships in Missouri and 16 in Arkansas and Mississippi is looking to expand their Accounting Management Training Program. This program began over four years ago with the focus to train specific employees on all the functions required to become a future Dealership Accounting Manager. The success of this program has allowed us to promote 4 persons into the Assistant Controller position at four of our dealerships. We now have more openings to fill due to recent promotions for those who want to learn not only the accounting, but processes, legal requirements, and compliance obligations associated within the workings of a car dealership.

Responsibilities

Process accounts receivable payable, accounts payable and bank reconciliations
Perform audit duties on a monthly basis
Prepare monthly financial statements
Perform payroll functions associated with commissioned employees
Prepare and submit monthly sales tax returns
Provide accounting support to company personnel
Perform other office duties such as filing, answering phones, etc.

Skills

Proven experience as an Accounting Clerk or similar role
Solid understanding of basic accounting principles and procedures
Good knowledge of MS Office (especially Excel) and accounting software (preferably Sage 100)
Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and accounting software (preferably Sage 100)
Familiarity with bookkeeping procedures and accounts receivable
Excellent organizational and time management skills
Good verbal and written communication skills
BS/BA in accounting, finance or relevant field
