Base Pay Range: $90,251 to $147,284 per year, based on experience

ABOUT THE JOB

The Quality Program Strategist manages the evaluation, coordination, and execution of strategic quality programs that impact organizational performance across national rankings, payer programs, patient experience, and clinical registries. Translates program requirements, benchmark results, scorecards, and analytic insights into prioritized operational improvement strategies. In partnership with Quality Improvement, Value Driven Outcomes and Analytics (VDOA), clinical leaders, and operational teams, identifies performance gaps, supports implementation, and monitors progress to achieve measurable quality outcomes.

DETAILED JOB DESCRIPTION

Supports and manages the development and execution of performance improvement strategies across targeted areas in alignment with quality priorities, including Programs of Distinction, national scorecards, payer programs, Center for Medicare & Medicaid Services initiatives, Vizient performance, and externally reported measures; monitors and interprets program methodologies and scoring requirements.
Identifies performance opportunities, risks, documentation gaps, alignment issues, and operational barriers; translates data and benchmarks into actionable strategies, implementation plans, and stakeholder-specific recommendations.
Designs, coordinates, and implements improvement initiatives, including patient experience programs, in partnership with key leaders and stakeholders across the organization.
Evaluates and optimizes the use of clinical registries and coordinates organizational response to clinical database insights, including participation strategy, service line engagement, and follow-up on performance opportunities.
Works in closely with VDOA to define analytic needs, validate data interpretation, and monitor outcomes.
Tracks progress against improvement plans, escalates barriers, and prepares leadership updates, executive summaries, and performance narratives.
May complete unit/department-specific duties as outlined in department documents.

.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Bachelor’s degree in health administration, nursing, public health, quality improvement, health informatics, business administration, or a related area of study, or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge, skills, and abilities can be obtained.
Five (5) years of experience in healthcare quality, performance improvement, clinical operations, value-based programs, patient experience, registry management, or healthcare program management.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree in health administration, nursing, public health, quality improvement, health informatics, business administration, or a related area.
Experience with hospital quality programs, national rankings, payer quality programs, value-based care, patient experience, or clinical quality registries.
Experience with U.S. News & World Report methodology, Vizient, CMS quality programs, patient experience programs, or payer incentive programs.
Experience developing improvement plans, executive briefings, scorecard narratives, and program performance updates.
Additional license/certification requirements as determined by the hiring department.
