Full Job Description

Who is The Bluffs?

We are a 132-bed non-profit skilled nursing facility governed by a volunteer Board of Directors. Our vision is to be a leader in the pursuit of healthcare excellence, the preferred choice for nursing & rehabilitative care, and a highly sought-out employer to healthcare professionals. We are NOT your typical nursing home! We put an emphasis on resident individuality, independence, and social well-being while providing our residents with care 24 hours per day, 7 days a week, 365 days per year.

Your Role as a Dietary Aide:

As a Dietary Aide, you'll be the face of our Dining Services team! We are looking for a reliable, driven, and hard-working person to join our team. We are looking for part-time or full-time coverage, including every other weekend.

Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

1. Server Responsibilities:

Set up tables in main and other dining areas with attention to cleanliness and order. (i.e. table cloths, napkins, silverware, menus, and placemats).
Assist residents with any needs, including clothing protectors and menu orders.
Provide excellent customer service by assisting residents with food and drink selections, presenting menu and assistance with ordering, offering alternatives and providing warm and friendly conversations during entire meal periods.
Serve meals at designated times.
Clean up dining areas and collect dishes, linen etc.
Discard leftovers and take out garbage.
Stock and monitor condiments.
Help put away dishes until shift ends.

2. Line Responsibilities:

Prepare food carts and trays for assisted dining areas.
Stock serving line and refrigerators (i.e. trays, serving utensils, plate guards, etc.)
Serve out the line while following diet orders and menu choices.
Complete food temperature checks before service.
Store food properly and safely; mark date and time appropriately.

3. Dishwasher Responsibilities:

Sort and rinse dirty dishes & other cooking utensils, then send through dish machine on appropriate racks.
Clean and sanitize all food service carts.
Sort & stack clean dishes. Carry clean dishes to Cook's line and other proper storage areas.
Responsible to obtain a list of hall trays served to verify all trays, dishes, etc. are returned from the halls.
Provide a clean and safe environment.

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older.
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Current Food Handler's card (required).
Six months' experience in long-term care dining services position (preferred).
