Facility Operations

Job Description

The Manager of Facilities Procurement and Inventory plays a crucial role in MU Facilities Operations, ensuring the efficient acquisition, management, and distribution of inventory valued at approximately $5 million annually. This position supports the operational needs of all departments within Campus Facilities, optimizing resources and maintaining high standards of service.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee purchasing activities for facilities inventory, ensuring compliance with university policies and budgetary guidelines.
Manage logistics and delivery processes, coordinating timely receipt and distribution of goods across campus.
Collaborate with all departments within MU Facilities Operations to assess procurement needs and support ongoing projects.
Utilize software programs including PeopleSoft, WebTMA, Maximo, and Microsoft Office products to track inventory, process orders, and generate reports.
Maintain accurate records of inventory levels, monitor usage, and implement cost-saving measures.
Develop and maintain relationships with vendors to ensure quality and reliability of supplies.

Shift

7:30 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Monday - Friday

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary

Preferred Qualifications

Comparable experience or a bachelor’s degree in business administration, supply chain management, retail management or a related field.
Minimum of five years’ experience in procurement, inventory management, or facilities operations.
Must have the ability to become proficient with PeopleSoft, WebTMA, Maximo, and Microsoft Office products.
Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks effectively.
Demonstrated experience in vendor negotiation and contract management.
Must possess a valid driver’s license, which will allow legal operation of a motor vehicle in the State of Missouri.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Salary Range: $80,000 - $90,000 annually

Grade: GGS-11
