Full Job Description

Position opening:

Kitchen Lead / Line Cook

The Kitchen Lead works closely with the Chef, Sous Chef, and FOH Manager to ensure that every dish meets our quality standards and that kitchen operations run smoothly. This role involves leading by example, maintaining consistency and organization on the line, and supporting the development of kitchen staff while helping to minimize waste and optimize efficiency.

Responsibilities

Work up to 40 hours per week in a leadership capacity on the line.
Oversee line operations to ensure all dishes meet plating standards, portion control, and presentation guidelines.
Maintain cleanliness, organization, and regular maintenance of line stations, equipment, and refrigeration units.
Communicate daily with management to monitor labor needs and make adjustments as necessary to maintain efficiency.
Assist in creating and testing rotating specials and soups that help reduce product waste and use excess inventory effectively.
Support the training and development of new kitchen staff; provide ongoing feedback and uphold kitchen standards.
Report any issues or concerns during shifts to senior management and hold team members accountable for their performance.
Promote a positive and professional kitchen culture centered on teamwork, respect, safety, and inclusion.
Work expo during service, communicating clearly with FOH staff and management to ensure a smooth guest experience.
Collaborate with prep staff to maintain an accurate and prioritized daily prep list.
Receive and organize deliveries, verifying product quality and proper storage.
Represent the kitchen during Health or Fire Department inspections when senior management is unavailable.
