Position Title:

Light Maintenance Technician

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and service-oriented Light Maintenance Technician to assist with the daily upkeep and appearance of our hotel. This position is responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, minor repairs, preventive maintenance, and responding to guest and associate maintenance requests. The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of building systems, enjoys hands-on work, and takes pride in maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our guests.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Perform routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces.
Complete minor repairs including painting, patching drywall, replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and repairing fixtures.
Respond promptly to guest maintenance requests and service calls.
Perform preventive maintenance on hotel equipment and facilities.
Assist with basic plumbing repairs such as replacing faucets, toilets, and shower components.
Replace air filters and perform minor HVAC maintenance as directed.
Maintain the appearance and functionality of hotel furniture, doors, locks, and hardware.
Assist with the setup and breakdown of meeting rooms and special events as needed.
Ensure all tools, equipment, and work areas are kept clean, organized, and safe.
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations.
Report major maintenance issues requiring specialized repairs to management.
Support hotel operations by assisting other departments when necessary.

QualificationsRequired:

High School Diploma or GED preferred.
Basic knowledge of maintenance, repair, and building systems.
Ability to use hand tools and basic power tools safely.
Strong customer service and communication skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and stand, walk, bend, kneel, and climb ladders as needed.

Preferred:

Previous hotel, apartment, facilities, or building maintenance experience.
Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, painting, and HVAC systems.
Experience working in a hospitality environment.
