The South Carolina Primary Health Care Association (SCPHCA) is seeking an energetic, organized, and service-oriented Manager of Member Services to help strengthen and support our statewide network of community health centers.

As our Manager of Member Services, you will be that person.

You'll play a vital role in supporting our members by providing exceptional customer service while creating exceptional educational events, building strong relationships, coordinating conference logistics, enhancing member engagement, and helping healthcare organizations succeed.

Your work will have a direct impact on improving the health of South Carolinians.

What You'll Do

As a key member of the SCPHCA team, you will:

Champion Member Engagement

Welcome and onboard new members
Coordinate new member orientations
Maintain our membership database and directory
Serve as a trusted resource for member organizations
Develop member engagement initiatives, including our Secret Shopper Program
Conduct needs assessments to identify valuable educational opportunities
Maintain member resources and event information on the SCPHCA website

Create Outstanding Conferences & Events

You'll lead every aspect of planning and executing high-quality:

Annual conferences
Leadership retreats
Educational workshops
Special events
Member technical assistance opportunities

From venue selection and contract negotiation to speaker coordination, sponsorship management, registration, logistics, budgeting, and on-site event execution—you'll bring every detail together to create exceptional experiences.

Manage Projects That Matter

Coordinate speakers and exhibitors
Negotiate hotel/venue contracts (including room blocks and food and beverage orders), for conferences and events for 20 to 300 participants
Create event timelines and "Run of Show" guides
Monitor budgets and expenses
Analyze event evaluations post-event and six months later to measure impact and continuously improve future programs
Collaborate with marketing to develop event materials and communications

Qualifications

Required

Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Public Health, Hospitality Management, Event Management, Communications, or a related field
Two or more years of professional experience in conference planning, member services, association management, project coordination, or a related field
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Valid South Carolina driver's license and reliable transportation

Preferred

Association management experience
Conference or event planning experience
Experience negotiating contracts and managing vendors
Experience coordinating continuing education or professional development programs
Knowledge of community health centers, healthcare associations, or nonprofit organizations
