Full Job Description

Food Service Assistant - Lexington Medical Center Extended Care (Skilled Nursing Facility)

Shifts Available:
12:00pm - 8:30pm Four (4) week days with rotating weekends

Job Summary

Provide assistance in all dietary functions as directed in accordance with established policy and procedure. You report directly to the Director of Food Services.

Required Training: Must be able to read, understand, and carry out written guidelines, procedures and other material; Must be able to interpret and follow labeled direction associated with use of cleaning products and other items; Must be able to comprehend and carry out verbal and written instructions and requests in a manner to accomplish tasks in an appropriate and timely manner

Essential Functions

Serve meals that are palatable and appetizing
Follow planned menus, recipes and meal schedules
Provide assistance in the dietary department as directed and assigned

Duties & Responsibilities

Assist in serving meals timely in accordance with Federal Regulations
Use approved portion controls established by the Registered Dietician
Assist in daily or scheduled cleaning duties, in accordance with established Policy and procedures
Clean and sanitize work tables, refrigerators, freezer etc.
Sweep and mop floors as assigned
Clean and sanitize work area and equipment, follow all applicable food regulatory rules and procedures.
Carry out garbage
Set up meal trays
Prepare meals according to menu, recipe and production sheets as directed by supervisor
Check trays before distribution
Perform dishwashing cleaning procedures. Ensure utensils are readily available for the next meal.
Remove food carts from Dining areas and take to dish room
Prepare and deliver snacks
Perform other duties as assigned
