DFX Technical Services is a telecommunications fiber splicing, design and engineering service provider.
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Field Fiber Splicing Supervisor to support our national operations for longhaul splicing (high count fiber splicing). This role is critical to ensuring operational excellence, safety compliance, and profitability while driving customer satisfaction and business growth. If you have deep expertise in fiber optic splicing and a proven track record in telecommunications project management, we want you on our team. This position will require travel throughout the United States (OK, TX, LA, CO, OH, MT, etc) and more. We need someone that is "hands on" in the field while demonstrating a high level of coordination and organization. Extensive travelling will be required.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Supporting all aspects of field operations including staff, logistics, scheduling, efficiency, safety compliance, project completion, cost control, and profitability.
Apply in-depth knowledge of fiber optic splicing techniques, equipment, and industry standards.
Interpret and implement contract requirements effectively.
Lead hiring, training, and development of employees to meet project demands.
Coach, mentor, and engage team members to foster a high-performance culture.
Prepare accurate project quotes and estimates; negotiate with clients and subcontractors.
Manage scheduling of projects, crews, equipment, and materials to ensure timely delivery.
Develop and monitor project budgets, cash flow, and site logistics.
Oversee billing and invoicing processes for timely submissions.
Provide practical solutions to operational challenges and communicate client needs clearly.
Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, contractors, and internal teams.
Ensure compliance with Health & Safety guidelines, conduct site orientations, audits, and crisis management planning.
Kick off new markets and projects. (coordinating storage facilities, meeting customers, coordination of labor resources, etc)
Prepare and review technical documentation, reports, and risk assessments.
Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity and customer satisfaction.
Act as a safety leader and champion for new safety initiatives.
Pursue new business opportunities and maintain existing client relationships.
Travel throughout the US as required.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum 5 years of experience in fiber optic splicing and testing for longhaul splicing projects.
Strong understanding of fiber optic splicing, OTDR testing, loss budgets, and documentation standards.
Experience with underground utilities and wireline construction (aerial and underground) an asset.
Ability to read telecom drawings/maps and designs
High School Diploma or equivalent; Technical Diploma or Degree preferred.
Proven ability to prioritize, plan strategically, and remain calm under pressure.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience in change management and conflict resolution.
Strong organizational, analytical, and technical skills.
Commitment to Health & Safety culture.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and related applications.
Demonstrated professionalism and adherence to confidentiality policies.

Pay: $85,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
