Responsibilities

Prepare and compound medications with meticulous attention to aseptic techniques, ensuring compliance with USP 797 standards and all pharmaceutical regulatory policies.
Conduct thorough patient assessments to determine appropriate medication therapy, including reviewing medical histories and understanding physiology and anatomy.
Manage pharmacy operations efficiently, including inventory control, medication labeling, and documentation within Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS) and Electronic Health Record (EHR) systems.
Provide expert consultation on drug regulation, medical management, pain management, immunizations, and clinical pharmacy practices to healthcare teams and patients.
Ensure adherence to state and federal pharmacy laws, HIPAA confidentiality policies, and healthcare compliance standards during all pharmacy activities.
Collaborate with pharmacy technicians and healthcare providers to optimize medication administration processes
Educate patients on medication use, potential side effects, and proper client communication practices while maintaining a focus on clinical confidentiality policies.

Skills

Preferred - Experience in compounding medications within a pharmacy setting, including aseptic technique and sterile compounding procedures.
Proven ability to practice as a pharmacist with knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy, and pharmacology principles.
Familiarity with pharmacy software systems such as Pharmacy Information Systems (PIS), EHR systems, and drug regulation compliance tools.
Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and healthcare professionals about complex medication therapies.
Knowledge of HIPAA regulations, clinical confidentiality policies, USP 797 standards for sterile preparations, and pharmacy operations management.
Basic life support (BLS) certification along with immunization certification
Managing pharmacy teams effectively while ensuring adherence to healthcare compliance standards related to drug regulation and pharmaceutical safety.
