Electrical Engineer – Data Center Equipment (HV Panels / ETL / SCCR)

Role Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Electrical Engineer with strong experience in high-voltage panel design and certification compliance for data-center-related equipment.
This role will support the design, development, and certification of electrical systems used in CRAC/CRAH units, CDUs, AHUs, fan walls, and similar OEM HVAC equipment.
The Electrical Engineer will work closely with Controls Engineers, sales teams, and certification bodies (ETL/UL) to ensure systems meet design, safety, and compliance requirements.
Key Responsibilities
1. High-Voltage Electrical Design
- Design electrical systems and panels for data center HVAC equipment.
- Select appropriate high-voltage electrical components.
- Develop electrical layouts and panel schematics.
2. SCCR Calculations
- Perform Short-Circuit Current Rating (SCCR) calculations for electrical panels.
- Ensure panel designs comply with ETL and UL certification requirements.
- Verify component ratings and compliance with applicable safety standards.
3. ETL / UL Certification Support
- Ensure designs comply with ETL and UL certification standards.
- Work with Intertek and certification teams during the approval process.
- Support documentation, testing, and certification validation.
4. Collaboration with Controls Engineering
- Work closely with Controls Engineers on low-voltage panel design.
- Coordinate electrical components and integration with controls systems.
- Ensure compatibility with controls platforms such as Siemens or ALC.
5. Sales & Technical Support
- Support sales teams during technical submittals and equipment selection.
- Provide electrical design expertise during the pre-sales phase.
- Respond to technical questions during the design approval process.
6. Testing & Factory Witness Testing (FWT)
- Support development of FWT testing rigs for equipment validation.
- Assist with Factory Witness Testing for AHU, CRAC/CRAH, CDU, and similar equipment.
- Provide electrical expertise during prototype and first-of-type testing.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering
- Strong experience with high-voltage electrical design
- Experience performing SCCR calculations
- Knowledge of ETL and UL certification processes
- Experience designing electrical panels for OEM equipment
- Proficiency with AutoCAD
- Experience using Autodesk Inventor
Preferred Qualifications
- UL 508A panel certification
- Experience working with data center equipment such as: CRAC / CRAH, CDU, AHU, Fan wall systems
- Experience supporting Factory Witness Testing
- Experience collaborating with controls engineering teams

Support projects from sales concept through testing and certification
Pay: $125,000.00 - $140,000.00 per year
