Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Amazon Forecasting Analyst to oversee and optimize the demand/planning forecast for one or multiple product categories on Amazon. This role is responsible for forecasting/analytics, in-stock management, and ensuring operational excellence in alignment with business objectives.
This is a highly collaborative, detail‑oriented role designed for someone who is commercially savvy, detail-oriented, and energized by data analytics & collaborating with internal teams to achieve revenue/sales goals.
Key Responsibilities
Forecasting (60%):
- Build monthly and annual demand forecasts at the SKU and category level, by analyzing historical sales trends, seasonality, and Amazon’s demand signals to project future demand.
- Incorporate baseline demand vs. promotional demand, new item launches, seasonality, and advertising support into forecasting models.
- Track Amazon Purchase Orders (POs) against forecast expectations, and identify forecast gaps that may cause stockouts or excess inventory.
- Align forecasts with lead times, MOQs, and production schedules to manage weeks of cover (WOC) and safety stock levels.
· Document and explain month-over-month changes and key drivers to stakeholders.
- Work with Supply Chain/Operations to translate monthly demand forecasts into procurement, production, inventory positioning, and capacity requirements - especially ahead of seasonal peaks and planned promotions
- Implement strategies to improve operational efficiency, minimize chargebacks, and optimize demand forecasting.
Business Intelligence (40%):
- Monitor and analyze key performance metrics such as sales, profitability, inventory levels, and chargebacks to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Analyze sales data (POS), customer trends, and competitive insights to make strategic recommendations.
- Generate and present performance reports with actionable insights to internal teams and leadership.
- Stay up to date with Amazon’s policies, algorithm changes, and marketplace trends to maintain a competitive edge.
Preferred Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience forecasting an Amazon account (1P or 3P), preferably in a CPG, retail, or e-commerce setting.
- Deep understanding of Amazon Vendor Central and/or Seller Central, including Retail Analytics, demand planning (P70/80/90), Merchandising Tools, etc.
- Experience with Amazon Advertising (AMS, DSP) and promotional planning.
- Strong experience with an ERP (i.e. Epicor, Apprise, etc)
- Advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, Power Query, complex formulas); comfort working with data extracts and reconciliations.
- Impeccable attention to detail, and ability to meet recurring deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience with e-commerce analytics and third-party Amazon management tools is preferred.

Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
