Full Job Description

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced line cook for our Gabagool restaurant kitchen. Our positions include saute, grill, fry, and garde marger. Your culinary skills will contribute to delivering exceptional dining experiences, ensuring every plate meets our high standards of quality, safety, and presentation. This position offers an exciting opportunity to develop your culinary expertise while working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment that values your enthusiasm and commitment. Our menu focuses on comforting and casual food centered around local ingredients in our area. Hours for this position would be 40 hours a week with opportunity for overtime. We are open for dinner Monday - Saturday, shifts run from 3pm to closing.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to established recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency in taste and presentation.
Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, slicers, and food processors.
Follow food safety guidelines and proper food handling procedures to maintain a hygienic work environment.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and kitchen tools through regular cleaning routines.
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and ensure timely service.
Support food industry best practices by adhering to safety standards during all stages of food production and storage.

Requirements

Proven experience in food service or restaurant environments, with a strong foundation in culinary techniques.
Demonstrated skills in food preparation, cooking, knife handling, slicing techniques, and recipe adherence.
Knowledge of food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments.
Prior experience working in dietary departments or dietary aide roles is a plus.
Ability to operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently while maintaining high cleanliness standards.
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen staff and team members.
Familiarity with catering experience or meal preparation for large groups is advantageous.
