Full Job Description

Position Summary

NOTE: CHATTAHOOCHEE VALLEY COMMUNITY COLLEGE OBSERVES EASTERN TIME.

Under the general direction of the Testing Coordinator and the Associate Dean of Student Development and Success, the employee provides support to the College's Testing Center and is the initial point of contact for test administration and scheduling.

Salary: Appropriate placement on Salary Schedule: E5 06 ($31,125-$48,180), which is based on years of directly related full-time experience.

Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications as indicated on this vacancy notice and must submit a completed online application packet through the online application system by the deadline date in order to be considered for this position. Verification of experience (employment) will be required after the interview process and prior to an offer of employment. Letter(s) must come from current and/or former employers, verifying employment experience to meet minimum required qualifications and for appropriate placement on the salary schedule. Letter(s) must include employment dates, employment status, and job title and be on official letterhead with an authorized personnel signature.

Completion of all sections of the online application is required. Application materials, including transcripts, must provide documentation that the applicant meets all minimum qualifications. Degrees must be posted on transcripts.

Unofficial transcripts are acceptable for application; however, official transcripts may be requested by the College prior to extension of an employment agreement to the successful candidate. Incomplete application packets will eliminate the possibility of an interview. It is the sole responsibility of the applicant to ensure his or her application packet is complete. Once submitted, all application materials become the property of CVCC. Only applications received during the period of the announcement will be considered. NO PHOTOS, please. Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Administer Accuplacer Placement Testing.
Serve as an alternate examiner, organizing and conducting GED testing.
Assist appropriate divisions with scheduling and coordinating various tests offered through the College’s Testing Center.
Ensure examinees have complied with all testing requirements.
Assist with tracking Testing Center service utilization and provide reports as needed.
Complete required training in order to stay in compliance with National Testing Center Guidelines.
Satisfactorily perform with minimal errors routine clerical duties to support the administration of the Testing Center, including emailing, typing, filing, copying, faxing, and answering the telephone.
Appropriately greet and receive visitors to the office; determine nature of their visit and/or request; route request to appropriate individual.
Assist students as needed with scheduling appointments to meet with advisors for registration and counseling after testing; ensure advisors receive the appropriate test results.
Maintain inventory of office supplies and order replacement supplies as needed.
Maintain, update, and amend records of departmental expenditures to ensure compliance with budget.
Maintain calendar for scheduled meetings; ensure that the requested materials and equipment are present for the meetings.
Edit outgoing correspondence for accuracy and content.
Ensure all documents and records are appropriately filed.
Assist with training part-time employees and work-study students in the operations and procedures for the Testing Center.
Answer department telephone; route calls to appropriate individual or handle requests as needed; record and distribute messages.
Provide information regarding student registration process, programs of study and degrees offered at the College.
Run reports as requested.
Know, understand, and comply with state and federal laws, including FERPA and the Students First Act.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Adhere to all policies and procedures set forth by the College.
Maintain confidentiality of identified sensitive information and of departmental information.
Remain current in and enhance professional knowledge and skills through professional development and continuing education.
Interact with and serve diverse student and employee populations in a courteous and friendly manner.
Adhere to high degree of workplace professionalism, including but not limited to courteous and friendly interaction with students and other CVCC employees, not using profanity, not engaging in gossip or other petty behavior.
Maintain appropriate work hours as outlined in State and College policies and as assigned by supervisor or dean.
Recruit potential students, both traditional and nontraditional, to the College, and assist in retention efforts.
Represent the institution in a positive manner.
Participate and assist in advance registration, regular registration, late registration, and schedule adjustment as assigned.
Participate in graduation and other College activities.
Serve on committees as assigned.
Participate in the College’s planning process.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree from a regionally accredited institution
One (1) year of full-time, directly related experience
Ability to obtain certification(s) necessary to administer Pearson VUE tests
Ability to operate a computer and work with various software, including Pearson GED software
Ability to demonstrate computer skills during screening
Strong work ethic and high degree of workplace
Excellent customer service skills
Self-directed with strong organizational skills and ability to work independently
Ability to meet the public in a friendly and receptive manner
Ability to maintain confidentiality
Ability to work a flexible, nonstandard work week when needed
Effective oral and written communication skills; proficiency in the English language
Proficient use of the Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel
