Senior Residential Advisor

Atterbury Job Corps Center | Edinburgh, IN

Are you a passionate advocate for youth? Do you want a career where every day you work is a step toward changing a young person's future? The Atterbury Job Corps Center is seeking Senior Residential Advisors to join our dynamic team!

At the Atterbury Job Corps Center, we work with youth ages 16-24 and provide them residential services, and academic and career training, all at no cost to the student. We are a federally funded program administered by the Department of Labor. We are a year-round, self-paced program for our students. If you are passionate about helping disadvantaged students get the support they need to become successful adults, this could be the position for you! WHAT YOU'LL DO

Direct and coordinate the activities of Residential Advisors on your assigned shift
Supervise and control dormitory conditions, evaluating situations and making decisions or recommendations as needed
Assist in training and evaluating residential living staff
Perform administrative duties for your shift, including student passes, leaves, evaluations, progress reports, emergencies, and terminations
Step into Residential Advisor duties as needed to ensure student safety and proper behavior
Communicate with students' families by mail and phone to resolve problems and support student well-being
Coordinate dormitory activities, including entertainment, unit competitions, and unit courts
Inspect dormitory areas, recommend facility maintenance, and direct dorm patrol and daily cleanup
Requisition supplies to support dorm living and student safety
Determine, recommend, and arrange student visits to counselors, reviewing student concerns as needed
Participate in and conduct orientation activities and social skills training as assigned
Maintain required student records and update the Center information system regularly
Provide positive, quality customer service to students, staff, and other Center customers

WHAT YOU BRING

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
Minimum of one year of Job Corps or related program experience (required)
Valid in-state driver's license (preferred)
Ability to lift 40 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, climbing, walking, pulling/pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching, or ability to assess lift load and request assistance as needed

High School Diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of one-year Job Corps or related program experience required. A valid in-State Driver’s License preferred.

Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling and/or pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds and/or the ability to assess the lift load in order to ask for necessary assistance.
