About the Role: As a Skilled Welder at Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, you’ll produce a wide variety of weldments with precision and pride, ensuring top-notch quality and safety in every weld.
Key Responsibilities:
- Master of Details: Accurately count pieces before each job.
- Efficient Set-Up: Load and unload jigs.
- Operate & Verify: Utilize welding equipment and verify work to prints, ensuring top quality.
- Safety First: Perform all tasks with a strong focus on safety and quality.
- Collaborative Spirit: Verify work of other welders and report any issues to the supervisor or lead.
- Stay Organized: Complete all paperwork accurately and promptly.
- Equipment Handling: Operate hoists and manual pallet jacks.
Additional Opportunities:
- Mentor New Welders: Share your knowledge and train new team members in the weld cell.
- Flexibility: Be ready to take on other duties as assigned.
What We're Looking For:
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
- Certification: Must pass the Life Fitness Weld Test. Vocational training and/or welding certificate preferred.
- Experience: Preferred MIG/Pulse welding experience in a manufacturing/production environment.
- Skills: Ability to read prints, complete process sheets, and communicate in English.
Physical Requirements:
- Lift up to 30 lbs for 60% of the shift and 50 lbs for 30% of the shift.
- Walk, stand, bend, twist/turn, reach overhead, and grasp tools as necessary.
- Operate hoist and pallet jack with confidence.

Your base wage will be between $22.25- $26.45 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime. This position is eligible for a $2.00 per hour shift differential for hours worked on 2nd shift, in addition to the base hourly wage. The actual wage offer will be based on qualifications, experience, location, and other relevant factors. You’ll have the opportunity to participate in the Production Bonus Plan, which provides opportunities to earn additional compensation based on performance metrics. Bonus eligibility is subject to meeting certain production goals and other criteria as outlined.
