Job Summary
A leading designer and manufacturer of technologically sophisticated defense systems is seeking an experienced Quality Director. Our organization combines the close-knit teamwork and visibility of a smaller company with the stability and resources of a large global organization.
The Quality Director will lead the company’s quality assurance and quality management programs. As a member of the site’s senior leadership team, this position will work closely and collaboratively with internal departments, customers, and suppliers.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary leader of the company’s quality management systems.
- Ensure processes consistently deliver outstanding quality across all products and services.
- Review and respond to customer concerns and quality-related issues.
- Identify and implement improvements to departmental and company processes.
- Develop, monitor, and report internal and external quality KPIs and performance metrics.
- Proactively analyze quality data to identify root causes, trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
- Lead root-cause investigations and corrective and preventive action initiatives.
- Work closely with other departments, customers, and suppliers to manage and resolve quality issues.
- Collaborate with the management team to develop, initiate, and monitor strategic quality initiatives throughout the organization.
- Approve, evaluate, and manage external providers and suppliers.
- Lead, manage, train, and develop quality personnel.
- Support and lead internal, customer, supplier, and certification audits.
- Maintain compliance with applicable quality standards and customer requirements.
Required Skills and Abilities
- Strong knowledge of quality assurance and quality management systems in a manufacturing environment.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, procedures, and other technical documents.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and root-cause analysis skills.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to evaluate priorities and manage multiple changing projects.
- Strong leadership, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs.
- Ability to communicate effectively with customers, suppliers, employees, and senior leadership.
- Ability to travel occasionally. Out-of-state and international travel may be required.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field.
- Demonstrated quality management experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Quality management experience involving aerospace or defense products is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated supervisory and management experience.
- Experience leading and maintaining ISO quality management certifications.
- AS9100 and NADCAP certification or audit experience is strongly preferred.
- Experience managing quality metrics, corrective actions, supplier quality, and continuous improvement initiatives is preferred.
- Must meet applicable U.S. person requirements for access to export-controlled products, information, or technology.

Pay: Up to $140,000.00 per year
