Full Job Description

Job Summary

At Garden Hill Assisted Living, we are dedicated to providing exceptional personal care, dignity, and a vibrant community for our senior residents in Columbus, Mississippi. We are seeking an experienced, hands-on Assisted Living Facility Administrator to lead our day-to-day operations, ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, and foster an environment of compassionate care for residents. Your leadership will drive the success of the facility by managing staff, maintaining high-quality care standards, and promoting a welcoming community atmosphere. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of seniors while demonstrating strong management expertise and healthcare knowledge.

Position Summary

As the Administrator, you will be fully responsible for the overall management, clinical oversight coordination, financial performance, and regulatory compliance of the facility. You will maintain high standards of resident care, build a high-performing caregiving team, and maintain positive relationships with families and state regulatory agencies.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Leadership: Direct all daily facility operations, administrative functions, and staff management.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure strict adherence to all Mississippi Department of Health (MSDH) licensure regulations, state standards, and safety guidelines.
Staffing & Management: Recruit, hire, schedule, train, and supervise caregiving, nursing, and administrative staff. Maintain direct-care staffing ratio compliance.
Resident Care & Satisfaction: Oversee resident admissions, assessments, and ongoing care plans to ensure safety, dignity, and physical well-being.
Financial Management: Manage operating budgets, census growth, purchasing, and facility inventory.
Community Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact for resident families, local healthcare providers, and the Columbus community.

Qualifications & Requirements

Experience: Minimum 2–3+ years of progressive leadership experience in assisted living, long-term care, residential personal care, or senior housing administration (Strongly Preferred).
Age/Education: Must be at least 21 years of age and hold a High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare Administration, Business, or related field preferred).
Licensure/Certification: Active Mississippi Licensed Nursing Home Administrator (NHA) or Residential Care / Assisted Living (RCAL) qualification preferred, or ability to meet MSDH Operator requirements upon hire.
State Mentoring: Readiness to complete the MSDH 2-day operator mentoring placement if required.
Background Checks: Must successfully pass a comprehensive criminal background check and not be listed on the Mississippi Nurse Aide Abuse Registry.
Skills: Strong understanding of Mississippi long-term care regulations, staff scheduling, budgeting, emergency planning, and empathetic conflict resolution.
