Job Overview
Join our dynamic healthcare team as a Part-Time Echocardiography Technician, where your expertise will play a vital role in diagnosing and monitoring cardiac conditions. In this energetic and fast-paced environment, you will perform high-quality echocardiographic imaging to assist physicians in delivering exceptional patient care. This position offers flexibility for those passionate about cardiovascular imaging and eager to contribute to a collaborative medical setting. Your proficiency in sonography, anatomy, and physiology will help ensure accurate diagnostic evaluations, supporting life-saving interventions and ongoing patient management.

Responsibilities

Operate ultrasound equipment to capture detailed echocardiographic images of the heart, including transthoracic and transesophageal procedures as applicable
Prepare patients for imaging procedures by explaining the process clearly and ensuring their comfort and safety throughout the exam
Monitor vital signs and assess patient condition during procedures, utilizing telemetry when necessary to track cardiac activity
Maintain strict aseptic technique to prevent infection and uphold safety standards in all imaging environments
Collaborate with cardiologists and other healthcare professionals to interpret diagnostic results accurately and efficiently
Document all procedures thoroughly, including image quality, patient information, and relevant clinical observations
Assist with additional diagnostic evaluations related to interventional cardiology or radiology procedures when required

Qualifications

Proven experience in echocardiography, with knowledge of sonography techniques and diagnostic evaluation processes
Familiarity with interventional radiology, cardiac catheterization, and cath lab procedures is highly desirable
Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and vital signs monitoring
Experience working within a Level I Trauma Center or Level II Trauma Center environment is a plus
Knowledge of aseptic technique and infection control protocols in high-pressure settings such as emergency medicine environments
Ability to operate ultrasound equipment efficiently while maintaining attention to detail for optimal image quality
Excellent communication skills to effectively explain procedures and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams
