The City of Dublin is seeking an experienced and visionary leader to serve as our next Director of Facilities & Fleet Management. This position offers a unique opportunity to oversee the facilities, fleet, and operational assets that support the exceptional services our residents, businesses, and visitors expect.

As Director, you will lead a talented team responsible for managing a diverse portfolio of municipal facilities, fleet operations, capital improvement projects, building security systems, and custodial services. From community recreation centers to fleet operations and alternative fuel infrastructure, your leadership will directly impact the daily operations and long-term success of the City.

Examples of Duties

As the Director of Facilities & Fleet Management, you will:

Strategic Leadership

Provide overall leadership, direction, and management for the Division of Facilities & Fleet Management.
Develop and implement short- and long-range plans that support City operational and strategic goals.
Advise executive leadership on facilities and fleet strategies, asset planning, and infrastructure investments.

Facilities Management

Oversee the maintenance, renovation, and construction of City buildings and related systems.
Manage facility planning, space utilization, furniture and equipment acquisition, and building improvements.
Direct building security operations, access control systems, surveillance systems, and employee identification programs.

Fleet & Equipment Operations

Lead fleet management programs that ensure City employees have safe, reliable, and efficient vehicles and equipment.
Oversee fleet replacement strategies, asset utilization analysis, and lifecycle management programs.
Support innovative fleet initiatives, including alternative fuel technologies and sustainability efforts.

Capital Projects & Budget Management

Develop and administer the Capital Improvements Program.
Manage divisional budgets, monitor expenditures, and ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
Collaborate with architects, engineers, consultants, contractors, and internal stakeholders throughout project development and construction.

Sustainability & Safety

Champion environmental stewardship by advancing energy efficiency, water conservation, sustainable building practices, and green fleet initiatives.
Promote a strong culture of workplace safety and regulatory compliance.
Develop policies and practices that support organizational effectiveness and continuous improvement.

Team Development

Lead, coach, and mentor division staff.
Foster accountability, collaboration, innovation, and excellent customer service.
Build and maintain strong relationships across City departments and with external partners.

Typical Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a closely related field.
Valid driver's license.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Strong negotiation, planning, and organizational abilities.
Ability to prepare and present clear reports, analyses, and recommendations.
Significant management and supervisory experience in facilities management, fleet operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated experience managing complex budgets, capital projects, and operational programs.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree in Business Administration, Public Administration, Engineering, Architecture, or a related discipline.
Experience in municipal government or other public-sector organizations.
Strong knowledge of facilities management best practices, fleet management systems, sustainability initiatives, and asset management principles.

HEALTH BENEFITS
The City of Dublin offers a high deductible health care plan through United Healthcare that provides 100% coverage for preventative care. Employee or family coverage is available. Additionally our integrated wellness program, Healthy by Choice (HBC), allows employees to earn a waiver of all or a portion of the medical plan premiums.

HEALTH SAVINGS ACCOUNT/HEALTH REIMBURSEMENT ACCOUNT
Annually, the City will deposit 75% of your health insurance deductible amount into an HSA account in your name.

VISION AND DENTAL
The City pays 100% of the premium for dental and vision. Coverage levels will be explained in further detail at time of hire.

LIFE INSURANCE
The City pays 100% of the premium for 1.5 times your salary up to $150,000 term life insurance coverage for the employee. Supplemental insurance is available.

RETIREMENT PENSION
The City contributes 14% monthly toward retirement benefits offered through the Ohio Public Employee Retirement System. The employee pension payment share is 10% of gross salary.

VACATION
New employees accrue two weeks of paid vacation their first year. Vacation time increases with length of service time. Prior public service may be honored as service credit for vacation accrual.

PERSONAL LEAVE
Employees receive five prorated days of personal leave annually.

SICK LEAVE
Employees are advanced three sick days at the time of hire and accrue nine sick days in total annually.

OTHER
Eleven (11) paid holidays per year, employer paid short term disability, tuition/certification reimbursement of up to $7,000 annually, recreation membership and longevity pay after four years of full time completed service with the City of Dublin.
