Your Next Opportunity: Staff Accountant

The Staff Accountant position provides support to the company’s payroll function as well as general accounting responsibilities related to the month end close. The position also assists with payroll processing including receiving, preparing, and tracking commission advance requests, calculating final commissions, and timely communication of exceptions. The Staff Accountant position will have access to company financial information and payroll and must maintain confidentiality and demonstrate a high degree of professionalism.

Prepare and calculate sales commissions and advances
Timely communication of exceptions/changes to the sales team for exceptions
Prepare ledger entries to ensure payroll expenditures are properly recorded and accrued
Process bi-weekly payroll funding procedures
Review and process employee expense reimbursements
Prepare and upload standard journal entries
Maintain financial schedules to reconcile GL balances
Assist in preparing monthly financial statements
Serve as back up for certain payroll processing as needed
Ad hoc reporting and projects as needed

To Be Successful as a Staff Accountant

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
1-3 years of experience in an accounting position
Payroll experience preferred
Experience with SAP Concur or similar workflow/accounting software preferred. Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.
Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite and various accounting systems with advanced level of proficiency with Excel.
Working knowledge of accounting and financial reporting software.
Ability to learn and adapt to software processes and internal controls.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and problem solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Demonstrated dependability, professionalism and accountability.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast paced environment.
Ability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with a team.
Ability to maintain confidentiality with sensitive payroll and financial information.
