Full Job Description

FOOD PANTRY MANAGER

Position Summary

Gahanna Residents in Need (GRIN) is seeking an experienced, mission-driven Food Pantry Manager to oversee it’s daily operations. This hands-on position is responsible for pantry operations, volunteer supervision, inventory management, food safety compliance, and client services. The Food Pantry Manager reports directly to the Program Director.

Position: Full-Time, 40 hours per week Compensation: Based on experience

Essential Responsibilities

Oversee daily operations, ensuring safety, organization, and an efficient environment.
Recruit, train, schedule, supervise, and support volunteers while fostering a positive culture.
Manage food inventory, including receiving, inspecting, sorting, dating, stocking, rotating, and maintaining accurate inventory records.
Coordinate food orders, retail donations, Mid-Ohio pick-ups, direct retail partner pick-ups, pantry lockers, home deliveries, and community distributions.
Ensure compliance with GRIN policies and Mid-Ohio food safety and health standards.
Maintain required documentation, temperature logs, inventory records, and data.
Perform routine facility maintenance checks and report repair needs.
Assist with seasonal programs, food drives, holiday distributions, and special events.
Work collaboratively with staff, volunteers, donors, and community partners.

Required Qualifications

Applicants must have:

Minimum two years of leadership or supervisory experience.
Experience managing operations in a nonprofit, food pantry, warehouse, grocery, food service, logistics, or similar environment.
Strong organizational, communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Valid Driver’s license, reliable transportation, and the ability to pass a background check.
Ability to frequently lift up to 50 pounds and perform physically active work.
