Pay Range: $80,000–$95,000/yr. (Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, education, and internal equity.)

We are currently seeking an Analyst - Financial Analysis, Pricing & Profitability to join our team in our Columbus, Ohio office. This full-time position is a member of the Finance Department and plays an integral role in supporting the Firm's financial analytics, pricing, and profitability initiatives.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The Analyst – Financial Analysis, Pricing, and Profitability supports the Firm’s financial analytics, pricing, and profitability initiatives. This role works closely with the Director of Financial Analysis, Pricing, and Profitability and other firm stakeholders to deliver accurate, timely, and actionable financial analysis that supports data-driven decision-making.
The Analyst will develop financial models, conduct profitability and pricing analyses, and prepare reporting related to matters, clients, practice groups, and attorneys. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytically curious professional seeking to build a strong foundation in law-firm economics, pricing strategy, and financial performance management.
This position offers significant exposure to leadership at all levels (i.e., the Firm, industry group, practice group, and operations team) through participation in strategic financial and profitability initiatives. As the Firm continues to invest in analytics, pricing, and profitability capabilities, this role will serve as a foundational member of a growing team and provide meaningful opportunities for professional growth and advancement. The analyses produced by this position will help inform firm strategy, pricing decisions, resource allocation, and long-term financial performance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Financial & Operational Analysis
- Develop and manage the preparation of recurring and ad-hoc financial reports related to revenue, profitability, realization, utilization, leverage, and cost drivers at the matter, client, practice group, office, and attorney levels
- Support profitability analyses by compiling and validating data related to direct costs, labor costs, and overhead allocations
- Build and maintain financial models in Excel to support budgeting, forecasting, and scenario analysis (e.g., rate changes, staffing mix, hiring assumptions)
- Prepare analyses and presentation materials for leadership at all levels (i.e., the Firm, industry group, practice group, and operations team).
Pricing Support
- Develop pricing analysis for new matters and alternative fee arrangements by preparing historical analyses, assumptions, and sensitivity scenarios
- Assist with matter scoping and post-matter reviews comparing estimated vs. actual performance to identify drivers of variance
- Compile data and analysis to support partner proposals and RFP responses
Profitability & Performance Monitoring
- Monitor firm, practice group, and matter-level financial performance.
- Help identify trends, anomalies, and potential improvement opportunities related to pricing, staffing, and profitability
- Prepare summaries and exhibits that translate financial findings into clear, decision-ready insights
Lateral & Strategic Analysis Support
- Conduct analysis evaluating the financial impact and profitability of potential lateral hires
- Conduct data gathering and financial modeling, and track post-integration performance
Data Integrity & Process Improvement
- Help ensure the accuracy and consistency of financial data used in analysis and reporting
- Investigate data discrepancies and work with appropriate teams to resolve issues
- Contribute to efforts aimed at improving reporting efficiency, business intelligence, automation, and data quality.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Analytics, or a related field required
- 2-5 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, pricing, FP&A, business analytics, or a related field preferred
- Experience in a professional services environment (law firm, consulting, accounting, or similar) strongly preferred
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS / ABILITIES
- Strong Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, formulas, and basic financial modeling
- Ability to analyze large datasets and identify meaningful trends and insights
- Familiarity with financial or time and billing systems (e.g., Aderant) is a plus
- Interest in law-firm economics, pricing strategies, and profitability analysis
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
- Ability to communicate analytical findings clearly, both in writing and verbally
- Demonstrated initiative, problem-solving ability, and a desire to grow within a financial analytics, pricing, and profitability function
