Job Title: Underwriting/Marketing Associate

Salary: $30.68 Hourly

Department: Communications

Definition:

This job posting is for a noncompetitive position and will create a new list. The hiring department will conduct a preliminary review of your application to determine who to interview. THIS IS NOT A REMOTE POSITION

Under general supervision, is responsible for the day-to-day marketing and underwriting activities necessary to support WCBE's fundraising goals; performs related duties as required.

Examples of Work (Any one position may not include all the duties listed nor do the examples cover all the duties that may be performed):

· Fosters relationships with businesses at the local, state and national level to develop leads for underwriting;

· Secures underwriting and maintains contact with funders;

· Interprets research to solicit donors and foster relationships; maintains relationships with donors and assists in identifying major donors;

· Assists with marketing and outreach programs;

· Researches, writes and submits grant applications to funders;

· Writes underwriting scripts in accordance with Federal Communications Commission (FCC) regulations;

· Utilizes programming software to create underwriting schedules;

· Drafts letters brochures, and other written materials to raise funds and market the radio station;

· Assists with special event planning and execution;

· Executes fundraising activities that advance the radio station's fundraising goals and philosphy;

· Assists with media and donor communications through various communication vehicles and press releases;

· Collects funds from donors;

· Represents the radio stations at WCBE and other community events;

· Recruits and manages volunteers for special projects;

· Maintains donor and prospects database.

Department Duties and Preferred Knowledge/Skills

Underwriting/Marketing – Underwriting Associate - In addition to the above

· Work with CTE student; instructing student interns on relevant processes

Underwriting/Marketing – Membership Associate- In addition to the above

Manage membership department including, but not limited to, plan and execute Fund Drives and donor events, responding to donor calls and emails, charging donor cards/accounts, regularly contacting donors with expired cards, running monthly renewals, organizing and executing mailers and premium shipping, weekly check processing, event attendance, creating and maintaining premiums/thank you gifts, giveaways, sweepstakes and donation incentives, social media posting coordinating with appropriate service providers for troubleshooting such as Allegiance and Paya, creating and updating Membership Handbook, instructing student interns on relevant processes and generate annual tax receipts.

Examples of work – additional duties will be assigned

Membership/Development Tasks

Charging donor cards/accounts
Contacting donors with expired cards
Verifying donations and matching donor information in Allegiance
Organizing and executing mailers/premium shipping
Weekly check entry
BankCard and ACH reporting
Event attendance
Fund Drive organization:

Operations Tasks

Updating and maintaining the website
Updating and maintaining the online broadcast
Operating video rig for Studio A sessions
Assisting with set-up and tear-down of Studio A sessions
Assisting with Studio A photography
Coordinating with Public Media Apps to update/maintain the app
Placing advertisements on website, app, stream pre-roll
General tech support
Coordinating with appropriate service providers for troubleshooting (NPR, Triton, PMA, ENCO, Kingswood)

Minimum Required Qualifications:

Possession of an associates degree and one (1) year of sales or fundraising experience.

Possession of a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

General knowledge of marketing and grant research methodologies and techniques; some knowledge of Federal Communications Commissions (FCC) regulations as it pertains to underwriting and National Public Radio; some knowledge of fundraising principles, practices, techniques, and current trends in fundraising; ability to research and prepare grants; ability to speak publicly and persuade audiences; ability to write for a variety of audiences and publications; ability to operate a computer and utilize related software; ability to communicate effectively; ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with public officials, local businesses, and the general public; ability to meet deadlines and achieve project goals; ability to interpret statistical data; ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
