Savko (Columbus, OH) is a family-owned heavy civil contractor with an 80-year legacy of delivering high-quality infrastructure projects throughout Central Ohio. Savko is seeking an experienced Estimator to join its growing team. In this role, you'll be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for a variety of heavy civil construction projects. Working closely with operations and leadership, you'll play a critical role in helping the company win new work while ensuring projects are positioned for success from day one. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys solving problems, collaborating with a team, and contributing to the continued growth of a well-respected contractor.

What You'll Do:

· Prepare accurate quantity takeoffs and detailed cost estimates for heavy civil construction projects.

· Review plans, specifications, bid documents, and project requirements.

· Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier pricing.

· Develop complete bid proposals and supporting documentation.

· Attend pre-bid meetings and site visits as needed.

· Identify project risks, opportunities, and value engineering options.

· Collaborate with project managers and field operations during the estimating and handoff process.

· Maintain current knowledge of material pricing, labor costs, and market conditions.

· Assist with budgeting, cost analysis, and project planning.

· Build and maintain strong relationships with owners, subcontractors, vendors, and design professionals.

What You'll Need:

· 3+ years of estimating experience within heavy civil construction, site development, underground utilities, roadway construction, or excavation.

· General background with underground utilities, earthwork and concrete.

· Strong understanding of construction plans, specifications, and bid documents.

· Experience preparing detailed quantity takeoffs and competitive estimates.

· Knowledge of construction means and methods.

· Strong analytical, mathematical, and organizational skills.

· Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities.

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with HCSS HeavyBid, Agtek, Bluebeam, Bid2Win, or similar estimating software is a plus.

· Ability to manage multiple bids and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
