Full Job Description

Overview

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented PROJECT ENGINEER I to join our dynamic engineering team. This entry-level role offers an exciting opportunity to develop your skills in civil infrastructure, construction management, and project engineering. As a PROJECT ENGINEER I, you will support the planning, design, and execution of infrastructure projects, ensuring they are completed efficiently, safely, and in compliance with all regulatory standards. This position is ideal for individuals eager to grow their technical expertise while contributing to impactful civil projects that improve communities.

Duties

Assist in project scheduling, tracking progress and deadlines to ensure timely completion of project milestones
Support the preparation of technical engineering reports, schematics, and design documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, Civil 3D, MicroStation, and other CAD software
Contribute to hydrological modeling and stormwater management system design utilizing tools such as SWMM and Hydrologic analysis software like HEC or Mathcad
Participate in construction management activities including site inspections, quality assurance, and safety compliance checks
Aid in permitting phase involvement by preparing documentation and coordinating with regulatory agencies
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams on system design for water treatment, wastewater treatment, stormwater systems, and geotechnical engineering projects
Assist in client communication by providing project updates and technical insights throughout project phases

Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related field; internship or entry-level experience in construction or civil infrastructure projects preferred
Familiarity with project scheduling tools and construction estimating processes
Proficiency in CAD software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, MicroStation, Revit; experience with CAD drafting and schematics is highly desirable
Knowledge of GIS platforms including ArcGIS and Land Surveying techniques
Experience with hydrologic modeling tools like SWMM or HEC is a plus
Understanding of construction inspection procedures and managing projects within an engineering role
Strong technical writing skills for generating reports and documentation
Ability to work effectively within a team environment while managing multiple tasks simultaneously
Excellent communication skills to liaise with clients, contractors, and internal teams effectively
