Intake and Authorization Coordinator (Home Care)

BrightStar Care of Columbus | Columbus, OH

Job Type: Full-Time
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM
Location: In-Office
Pay: $23–$28 per hour (based on experience)

About BrightStar Care

BrightStar Care of Columbus is a locally owned, well-established home care agency serving Franklin County, with four exclusive territories and nearly two decades in business. We're looking for a detail-driven, people-first professional to be the first point of contact for every new client referral — and the behind-the-scenes expert who keeps our authorizations airtight.

What You'll Do:

Serve as the first point of contact for all new client referrals, across every payor source we work with (CareSource, Molina, Ohio Medicaid, VA, and private pay)
Verify eligibility, benefits, and CPT codes with MCOs and other payors before we commit to a case
Build and maintain our authorization records to keep us fully compliant with every payor
Personally manage our high-end private pay clients, including coordinating in-home consultation visits
Partner closely with our Client Care Coordinators so every client is matched with the right caregiver
Log every referral we receive, whether or not it converts to a client, to keep our pipeline accurate
Work with our outside sales team to make sure every case we win gets covered

What You'll Need:

A warm, patient, genuinely compassionate phone and in-person manner — families are often calling us on a hard day
Comfort learning payor rules, CPT codes, and authorization requirements (prior managed care, medical billing, or home care experience is a strong plus; we will train the right person)
Sharp attention to detail — this role protects our compliance standing
Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple open cases at once
Clear, confident communication with clients, families, care coordinators, and payors

What You'll Get:

$23–$28/hour, based on experience
Full benefits package, including Paid Time Off (PTO)
Stable Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM–5:00 PM schedule — no nights, no weekends, no on-call
