Full Job Description

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site construction operations for hotel renovation projects nationwide. As Axis’s on-site leader, you will own daily field operations from mobilization through closeout. You will coordinate teams, enforce safety and quality, and deliver renovations that improve the guest experience while protecting active hotel operations and revenue. This role requires extensive nationwide travel.

Key Responsibilities

· Direct all on-site construction activities from mobilization through punch list, closeout, and turnover.

· Develop, maintain, and drive the project schedule; identify and resolve issues before they threaten milestones.

· Coordinate and supervise subcontractors and vendors, holding every trade accountable to scope, quality, and timeline.

· Phase work to minimize disruption to hotel guests and staff in occupied, operational environments.

· Enforce a strict safety culture in full compliance with OSHA and company standards; lead daily and weekly safety meetings.

· Manage quality control to meet brand standards (PIPs), construction documents, and local building codes; coordinate and pass all inspections.

· Maintain transparent, proactive communication with owners, brand representatives, project managers, and field teams.

· Maintain accurate daily reports, logs, photo documentation, and as-builts.

· Manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, deliveries, site logistics, and jobsite organization.

· Serve as the primary on-site contact for owners, brand representatives, architects, and local authorities.

Qualifications

· 5+ years of construction superintendent experience, with hotel/hospitality renovations strongly preferred.

· Proven success managing projects in occupied, operational hotel environments and phased renovations.

· Thorough understanding of construction means and methods, building codes, and OSHA safety standards; OSHA 30 preferred.

· Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and construction documents.

· Proficiency with construction and scheduling software such as Procore, Bluebeam, and MS Project.

· Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

· Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Travel & Work Conditions

· This role requires extensive nationwide travel. You will be on-site at active project locations for the duration of each assignment, with regular rotations home.

· Per diem, lodging, and transportation support provided in accordance with company policy.

· Work is performed on active construction sites and requires standing, walking, climbing, and lifting; must be able to work outdoors in varying weather and navigate all areas of a jobsite.

Pay: $95,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
