POSITION: Recruiter
LOCATION: Columbus, OH
REPORT TO: HR Director
FLSA STATUS: Fulltime, Non-Exempt
SALARY: $60,000 to $75,000 annually based on experience

OVERVIEW

The Recruiter is responsible for leading full-cycle recruiting efforts across Bay Crane's multiple branch locations, ensuring the company attracts, hires, and retains top talent for both field and corporate positions. This role partners closely with operations leadership to understand workforce needs, develop recruiting strategies, build candidate pipelines, and deliver an exceptional candidate experience.

The Recruiter plays a critical role in supporting Bay Crane's continued growth by identifying skilled professionals in crane operations, rigging, transportation, mechanics, dispatch, project management, sales, and administrative functions while maintaining compliance with company policies and employment regulations.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Full-Cycle Recruiting

Manage the full recruitment lifecycle from requisition through offer acceptance
Partner with hiring managers to develop recruiting strategies and understand staffing priorities
Conduct intake meetings to define position requirements, qualifications, and hiring timelines
Source qualified candidates through job boards, social media, networking, referrals, industry associations, and direct outreach
Develop proactive talent pipelines for high-volume and difficult-to-fill skilled trade positions
Screen resumes and conduct initial phone interviews to evaluate candidate qualifications and cultural fit
Coordinate interviews between candidates and hiring managers
Maintain timely communication with candidates throughout the hiring process
Prepare offer recommendations and extend offers in partnership with HR Director
Facilitate pre-employment screenings including background checks, drug testing, and employment verification

Talent Acquisition Strategy

Develop recruiting strategies that support workforce planning across multiple Bay Crane locations
Build relationships with technical schools, trade schools, military organizations, workforce development agencies, and community partners
Represent Bay Crane at career fairs, hiring events, and recruiting initiatives
Continuously evaluate sourcing effectiveness and recommend improvements

Applicant Tracking & Recruiting Administration

Maintain accurate candidate records
Post and manage job advertisements across multiple recruiting platforms
Track recruiting metrics including time-to-fill, source of hire, interview-to-offer ratios, and recruiting costs
Ensure recruiting documentation is accurate and compliant with employment laws
Maintain recruiting reports and provide regular hiring updates to HR Director

Hiring Manager Partnership

Serve as a trusted recruiting advisor to hiring managers throughout the hiring process
Provide guidance on interview techniques, candidate evaluations, and market conditions
Coordinate hiring timelines to meet operational staffing needs
Communicate regularly regarding recruiting progress and anticipated hiring timelines
Assist managers with workforce planning and future staffing projections

Employer Branding & Candidate Experience

Promote Bay Crane as an employer of choice through professional and engaging candidate interactions
Ensure a positive candidate experience from application through onboarding
Support company branding initiatives across recruiting platforms and social media
Gather candidate feedback and recommend process improvements

Onboarding Support

Coordinate with HR and hiring managers to ensure smooth transition from offer acceptance through onboarding
Ensure all pre-employment documentation is completed timely
Communicate start dates with Payroll, HR, IT, and Operations
Assist with new hire orientation scheduling as needed

QUALIFICATIONS

· Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred (or equivalent combination of education and experience)

· 3+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, preferably in construction, transportation, industrial services, manufacturing, skilled trades, or similar industries

· Experience recruiting both hourly field employees and salaried professionals

· Experience using ADP

· Strong sourcing experience utilizing LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, social media, referrals, and passive candidate outreach

· Knowledge of employment laws and hiring compliance

· Excellent communication, relationship-building, and interviewing skills

· Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple requisitions simultaneously

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office and HR technology platforms

· Ability to travel occasionally to branch locations, career fairs, and recruiting events

Experience supporting multi-location operations
Experience recruiting in a fast-paced, high-growth environment

Pay: $60,000.00 - $75,000.00 per year
