Full Job Description

Housekeeper/Laundry Assistant

Worthington Christian Village is a great place to work offering a total ministry to the senior adults of Central Ohio. Currently our housekeeping staff is looking for a laundry/housekeeping associate. Some of the responsibilities will include being responsible for all phases of the laundry process including sorting, washing/drying, folding, and organizing items. Other responsibilities may include housekeeping duties such as cleaning restrooms, resident rooms, admin offices, and common areas.

The ideal candidate will have experience in housekeeping and working with senior adults. This is a full-time, 1st shift position 6am-230pm. This position is required to work every 3rd weekend and some holidays, but still maintains a 5-day work week. Some of the duties include, but is not limited to:

Perform day-to-day housekeeping/laundry functions as assigned.
Perform specific tasks in accordance with daily work assignments.
Clean/polish furnishings, fixtures, ledges, room heating/cooling units, etc., in resident rooms, recreational areas, etc., daily as instructed.
Clean, wash, sanitize, and/or polish bathroom fixtures. Ensure that water marks are removed from fixtures.
Clean windows/mirrors in resident rooms, recreational areas, bathrooms, and entrance/exit ways.
Clean floors, to include sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting, etc. (NOTE: Ensure that appropriate caution/safety signs are properly set up prior to performing such duties.)
Clean walls and ceilings by washing, wiping, dusting, spot cleaning, disinfecting, deodorizing, etc.
Remove dirt, dust, grease, film, etc., from surfaces using proper cleaning/disinfecting solutions.
Clean hallways, stairways, and elevators.
Clean vacant rooms as assigned.
Perform isolation cleaning procedures in accordance with established infection control procedures.
Gather, sort, and place soiled laundry in machines for washing/drying.
Organize, fold, hang, deliver clean clothes and linen.
Ensure that work/assignment areas are clean and that equipment, tools, supplies, etc., are properly stored at all times, as well as before leaving such areas for breaks, meal times, and end of the work day.
Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent time management and organizational skills.
Commitment to maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene.
