Position Summary

The IS Engineer – Programmer is responsible for designing, developing, and supporting custom software applications, databases, and manufacturing systems that improve operational efficiency, production traceability, and business performance. This role partners with cross-functional teams to develop technology solutions, troubleshoot complex system issues, and ensure reliable operation of critical production applications.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, and troubleshoot customized software applications.
Develop, maintain, and support production traceability systems and databases.
Create software applications that improve efficiency and integration across business functions.
Design, develop, and maintain reporting tools and data analytics solutions.
Analyze production and business data to support operational decision-making.
Maintain and enhance the company's intranet site.
Provide technical support for applications, databases, and enterprise systems.
Troubleshoot routine and complex database and software application issues.
Train users on database functionality and communicate system enhancement opportunities.
Support cross-functional teams with application development, system improvements, and integration projects.
Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation to support critical production systems.
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following 5S principles.
Demonstrate a strong commitment to internal and external customer satisfaction.

Required Qualifications

Minimum of 10 years of software development experience.
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field preferred.
Advanced degree preferred.
Minimum of 5 years of Microsoft SQL Server administration and maintenance experience (SQL Server 2005 or newer).
Strong programming experience with:
Visual Basic (VB/VBScript)
C#
JavaScript
SQL / T-SQL
PHP
.NET / ASP.NET
HTML / XML
Ability to read and write PLC ladder logic.
Advanced experience with Microsoft Visual Studio and SQL Server, including queries and stored procedures.
Experience with ICONICS Genesis32 or Genesis64 is preferred.
Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Excellent analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Self-motivated with the ability to work independently.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Physical Requirements

Ability to communicate effectively in a manufacturing environment with moderate noise levels.
Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
Occasional work on the production floor.
Ability to use hands and reach while interacting with computer systems and manufacturing equipment.
