Full Job Description

Preferred Living is a luxury brand best known for high quality apartments in Columbus Ohio. We are seeking a Real Estate Accountant to join our team. This position requires a motivated accountant who will do all things accounting as well as managing the reporting functions to help grow the business and ensure accurate monthly financials. This position is based in the corporate office in Columbus, Ohio.

Primary Responsibilities:

Full responsibility to complete the financials including month end/year end communicating if there are any concerns.

Cash Management and bank reconciliation

Completion of adjusting journals

Research and respond to accounting inquiries and financial inquiries as needed

Oversee the payables to ensure timely and accurate recording of all accounting data

Monthly processes for credit card expenses and management fees

Understand tenant ledgersand their relationship to financials

Process ledger adjustments with feedback to property management

Communicate with other departments issues and assist in resolving

Budget and forecasting analysis, including reporting monthly financial reporting to owners and management

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

3 to 5 years' experience in accounting

Knowledge of general accounting procedures

Must be a problem solver as well as a problem hunter to find areas that need to be improved

Strict attention to detail and excellent Excel skills.

Ability to multi-task and pivot with the days changing priorities

Benefits include medical, dental, vision, 401k with a match and PTO. Drug screen and background check will be required.

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Associate's degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics preferred or equivalent work experience considered.
Accounting experience: 3 to 5 years on the job working with income statements, balances sheets beyond AP or AR.

This position requires in-office attendance and is not available for hybrid or remote work.
