Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tax Director to lead our tax strategy, compliance, and planning efforts across the organization. The Tax Director will oversee tax reporting and regulatory compliance, provide strategic tax guidance to senior leadership, manage relationships with external advisors and tax authorities, and build and mentor a high-performing tax team. The role requires deep technical tax expertise, strong leadership, and the ability to translate complex tax issues into practical business solutions.
Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement the companys tax strategy to optimize tax position while ensuring compliance with federal, state, local and international tax laws.

Oversee tax provision preparation and review, coordinate year-end tax accounting and manage tax provision processes in accordance with ASC 740.

Lead and manage all corporate tax compliance activities, including timely filing of returns, extensions, and responses to tax notices.

Provide strategic tax planning and advice to senior management on business transactions, restructurings, M&A activity, transfer pricing, and cross-border matters.

Partner with finance, legal, and business units to evaluate tax implications of new products, investments, and commercial arrangements.

Manage relationships with external advisors, auditors, and tax authorities, including negotiation and resolution of tax issues and audits.

Build, develop, and mentor the tax team; establish appropriate policies, procedures, and controls to ensure accuracy and efficiency.

Identify process improvements and lead implementation of tax technology, automation, and data analytics to improve reporting and compliance.

Monitor legislative and regulatory developments and evaluate their impact on the companys tax position and reporting.

Prepare clear, executive-level reporting on tax risks, exposures, and opportunities for the Board and senior leadership.
Qualifications

Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required.

Extensive corporate tax experience (typically 8+ years) with progressive leadership responsibility in tax planning, compliance, and provision.

Strong technical knowledge of U.S. federal, state and local tax laws; experience with international tax matters and transfer pricing is highly desirable.

Demonstrated experience preparing and reviewing tax provisions under ASC 740 and managing tax accounting processes.

Proven leadership skills with experience building and developing a high-performing tax team and managing external advisors.

Excellent communication skills with the ability to present complex tax issues to non-tax stakeholders and senior executives.

Proficient with tax software, ERP systems, and Excel; experience implementing tax technology or automation is a plus.

Nice to have: Enrolled Agent (EA) credential and background in public accounting or Big Four experience.
