MECHANICAL ASSEMBLER – 1st SHIFT
- Direct Hire – Full Time Position
- 1st Shift hours: Mon – Friday 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Mechanical Assembly of a variety of simple to complex metal cabinetry to supply essential businesses. (not an “assembly line” environment)
- OTJ training provided, specific to the product being assembled.
- Will work in tandem with an experienced and seasoned Assembler already on staff.
- Must be focused, driven to produce precise “show room quality” finished products.
- Versatile, fast paced department requiring dependable and accountable team members who exhibit results that are consistently “a cut above” in accuracy & detail orientation.
REQUIRED:
^ 2-3 yrs. knowledge + experience in mechanical assembly within a manufacturing environment.
^ Ability to read and accurately interpret prints +/or schematics.
^ Mechanically inclined: demonstrated experience in ability to use a variety of power/air and hand tools including riveting.
^ Ability to lift between to 10-75 lbs. with regularity.
^ Experience in application of the following: Silicone + Butyl Sealants; Gaskets etc.
^ Physical ability to stand, squat, bend, reach, pull and push during course of an 8 hour shift.
^ High attention to detail & fine tactical ability.
^ Organizational skills.
^ Pallet jack experience
^ Ability to take direction; work independently as well as a part of a team.
^ Contribute to team dynamics, offering solutions to move projects forward.
PREFERRED:
^ Job Shop experience.
^ Previous Metal or Fabrication experience on any of the following is helpful: hardware insertion, deburring, finishing, Press Brakes, stud/spot welding, powder, paint prep., etc.
^ Knowledge of / experience with ISO standards and procedures.
^ Computer experience (Word/Excel, business software system).
^ Forklift experience helpful but not required.
^ Candidate lives in Columbus or surrounding areas with own reliable transportation.
Important to note: This Position varies in assignment based on the needs of the business: so, no day is exactly the same. We operate in a production environment and due to the nature of our business, we require someone who is very dependable, physically fit, focused and able to work independently as well as take direction. Position is physical in nature and requires agility.
EDUCATION:
^ Requires high school diploma or equivalent.
