Job Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and energetic Bookkeeper to join our dynamic finance team! In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. Your expertise will help support our organization’s financial health and operational efficiency. Duties

Manage daily bookkeeping activities including data entry of journal entries, accounts payable, and accounts receivable transactions
Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and balance sheets to ensure accuracy and completeness
Prepare financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles)
Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record and analyze financial data
Perform account analysis and account reconciliation to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly
Assist with payroll processing, tax filings, and compliance requirements for non-profit or governmental organizations
Support budgeting processes by tracking expenses and preparing variance reports for management review

Qualifications

Proven experience with bookkeeping or accounting roles in corporate or non-profit settings
Strong proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial systems
Solid understanding of GAAP standards, double-entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, and general ledger accounting
Experience with bank reconciliation, account reconciliation, balance sheet reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation
Knowledge of governmental accounting practices and tax experience is a plus
Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational skills; ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently
Familiarity with budgeting processes and financial report writing
Ability to perform 10 key typing accurately and efficiently; strong numerical aptitude
Effective communication skills to collaborate across departments and prepare clear financial documentation
