Biology Lecturer (9M) Mansfield Campus

The Ohio State University at Mansfield invites applications for a Biology Lecturer position starting in August 2026. We seek a dedicated instructor committed to high‑quality undergraduate teaching and student success. Courses may include introductory Biology for majors or non-majors, Anatomy, and related courses , or other offerings depending on departmental needs and candidate expertise.
This full-time instructional position supports OSU Mansfield’s mission of providing accessible, affordable, and student‑centered education to a diverse population, including many first‑generation , commuter , and pre‑health students.
Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality instruction in assigned undergraduate Biology courses (lecture and/or laboratory)
- Prepare course materials, assessments, and syllabi aligned with departmental standards
- Provide timely, constructive feedback to students
- Maintain regular communication and hold office hours (in‑person or virtual) to support student learning
- Foster a supportive classroom environment
- Collaborate with other faculty and staff as needed to support student learning and ensure curriculum alignment across sections.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in biology‑related discipline or a closely related field
- Demonstrated ability or strong potential to teach undergraduate students effectively
- Commitment to pedagogy and supporting diverse learners
Preferred Qualifications
- Ph.D. in a biology‑related discipline
- Prior Experience teaching biology, anatomy, or related courses at he college level.
- Familiarity with active‑learning or student‑centered instructional approaches
- Experience teaching or mentoring first‑generation , non‑traditional , or pre‑health students
- Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMs) like Canvas or Blackboard

The College
The Ohio State University at Mansfield offered its first classes in 1958. The Mansfield campus sits on 640 acres and shares the campus with North Central State College. The campus is a thriving model for sustainability and environmental/natural resources experiential education and hands-on research. The campus has a 20-acre sugar bush used for maple syrup production; vernal pools, pine plantations, wetlands, and stream heads; and an ecolab collaboration with the School of Environment and Natural Resources. The two institutions have their own administrative leadership and governance structure, but partner through several shared services, including security, campus recreation, facilities, and several student events and programs.
Ohio State Mansfield currently enrolls 828 students who are taught and supported by 28 tenure track or tenured professors.
