Overview

Join Wags and Kisses as a Dog Walker and Pet Sitter, where your passion for animals and dedication to exceptional care come to life! In this energetic role, you will provide reliable, loving pet care services that keep animals happy, healthy, and engaged. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to work outdoors, build meaningful relationships with animals and clients, and develop your skills in animal handling and care.

Seeking open availability: Tuesday-Thursday for visits during the day, open to someone also wanting to work Friday-Monday but those aren't the primary days we are needing to bring on more sitters for.

Responsibilities

Take dogs on daily walks, ensuring they receive proper exercise and mental stimulation while adhering to individual behavioral needs
Provide pet sitting services in clients’ homes, including feeding, administering medication if needed, and maintaining routines
Handle animals safely using proper restraint techniques during walks or care activities
Monitor pet behavior closely to detect signs of stress or health issues and communicate observations effectively to pet owners
Assist with overnight in-home pet care, offering companionship and ensuring pets are comfortable and secure during extended stays
Perform basic grooming tasks such as brushing or cleaning as required to maintain pet hygiene (no nail trims required, just normal daily grooming pets may require during longer visits or overnight stays)
Maintain clear communication with clients regarding pet activities, health updates, and any concerns that arise
Requires daily driving between multiple visits across Columbus, must be willing to drive throughout inner 270

Requirements

Prior experience with dog handling, pet sitting, or animal care is highly preferred
Must have a working well maintained vehicle to drive between visits and a backup plan if car troubles arise.
Knowledge of dog training techniques and animal behavior management is beneficial
Experience working with veterinary environments or as a veterinary technician/assistant is a plus
Ability to handle various animals with confidence and compassion
Comfortable performing outdoor work in different weather conditions and lifting heavy items such as pet supplies or bags of food
Strong client communication skills to ensure excellent customer service and build trust with pet owners
