Full Job Description

PURPOSE: The Licensed Behavioral Health Professional provides various behavioral health services for clients across multiple locations, such as school, work, and home, and across one or more services and funding sources including behavioral health and waiver. This position’s regular activities include assessment, individual service/treatment plan development, case management and coordination, and other mental and behavioral health services to clients with mental health illness within one’s scope of practice such as therapeutic behavioral services and/or counseling. For one’s caseload, the LBHP is responsible for the oversight of client Individual Treatment Plan implementation, providing oversight and supervision of QBHS and other team members in their implementation of the ITP, and may provide initial and ongoing training for team members for the delivery of services, as needed. The LBHP must have strong case management, communication, and time management skills, as well as the ability to work effectively with families and treatment partners. Productivity required. Travel required as needed.

This position will receive 1:1 and/or group supervision from supervisors through direct observation, clinical meetings, and/or videos. Supervision is provided regularly and is documented. In addition, LBHP team members are required to attend team meetings, staff professional development sessions per their specific staff development plan, scheduled training, and continuing education as required by their licensing board. This position will be supervised by both a Licensed supervising social worker as well as a Director. The LBHP is identified as a QBHS provider of mental health services.

ORGANIZATIONAL LEVEL:

Senior Staff

EDUCATION REQUIRED: Bachelor’s degree or higher

CREDENTIALS REQUIRED: Ohio license such as: LSW, LPC, MFT, LISW, LPCC, IMFT, Ph.D. Supervisory status preferred.

Specific Duties, Competencies, Responsibilities, and Behaviors

Possess education and experience diagnosing and treating common psychiatric diagnoses, working knowledge of DSM-V and ICD-10, and knowledge of autism spectrum disorders including common evidence-based treatments such as cognitive-behavioral therapy
Adapt to and respond appropriately to acute events and use good clinical judgment during risk assessments and mandated reporting (in conjunction with other team members)
Complete behavioral health services, activities, and duties both independently and in collaboration with internal and external professionals including, but not limited to:
Diagnostic assessment (DA), DA updates (psychosocial assessment)
Individual Treatment Plan (ITP)
Case coordination and management; identify as the designated case manager for clients
Risk assessments, safety plans
CPST, TBS, PSR, and therapy clinical supervision as assigned
Counseling and therapy activities/psychotherapy to the client, the client’s family members, and others significant to the client as deemed medically necessary
Complete documentation and maintain a complete, compliant, and quality individual client record for each client following regulations and designated policy and procedure to include a client resource binder to be available to all clients in the lobby
Consistently demonstrate core competencies required for the position
Attend supervision and administrative meetings as directed
Meet productivity requirements
Conduct training and supervision of new QBHS staff as directed
Conduct ongoing staff training and presentations as directed on topics including but not limited to:
Cultural sensitivity and diversity
Characteristics of the population served
The community behavioral health system, social service systems, the criminal justice system, and other healthcare systems related to Autism Spectrum Disorders
Participate in staff development, education and training. Training may be provided by direct supervision, attendance at conferences and workshops internal and external to Empower, online training, educational coursework, etc. Training shall include at minimum topics that maintain or increase competency, topics specific to the population served, and cultural competency in your provision of service
Follow client rights and grievance policy and procedures
Complete all training, education, and development activities as required
Demonstrate accurate implementation of clinical and other competencies specific to the position
Provide behavioral health services following the client’s treatment plan, and as qualified to do so, including but not limited to CPST and/or TBS services
Complete data collection, progress notes, and communication of client progress or lack thereof following internal procedures (e.g., progress note documentation, walkie procedures, Q/A systems, troubleshooting and program completion forms, etc.)
Monitor and report progress on designated clients toward their ISP/ITP, IEP, and/or Treatment Plan objectives and goals to the supervisor
Work collaboratively within a treatment team; implement feedback as directed
