Overview

We are seeking a dedicated, ambituous and energetic line cook to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for conducting daily operations while working directly with the owner or supervisor, ensuring exceptional guest/peer communications, and working with a small team to achieve restaurant goals. As a Line cook, you will play a crucial role in maintaining high standards of food quality, efficient prep skills and recipe execution while fostering a positive work environment for our team.

We are a growing company seeking individuals who can dedicate at least one year to the role, not only for the business, but to also grow as a cook and take the experience with you wherever your path leads. Our goal is to be considering expansion in 3 years, so lots of dialing in food costs/execution/waste and labor where necessary. This is a great opportunity for eager cooks to be given first opportunities in promotions and growth options as we expand our brand.

Responsibilities

Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and quality standards, ensuring consistency and presentation excellence
Operate various kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, slicers, and food processors
Follow food safety protocols and handling procedures to maintain a clean and hygienic work environment
Assist with meal assembly, plating, and portion control to ensure timely service during busy hours
Contribution to soups and specials is encouraged.
Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment through regular cleaning and sanitizing routines
Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation, timing, and special requests

Skills

Proven experience in food service or restaurant kitchens with strong sautee skills
Knowledge of dietary department standards and dietary aide experience is a plus
Skilled in food preparation techniques including slicing, chopping, and cooking methods
Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for various ingredients
Familiarity with food safety management practices and adherence to safety standards in production environments
Ability to follow recipes accurately while maintaining flexibility for special requests or modifications
Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with kitchen team members and service team members.
Experience in catering or large-scale meal preparation is advantageous
