Grill Cook

Locations: Columbus, OH (Downtown & Gahanna)
Job Type: Full-Time / Part-Time
Pay: This position requires the ability to work closing shifts on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays without scheduling restrictions. Applicants who meet this availability requirement may qualify for a conditional starting wage of $18.00 per hour.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Grill Cook responsible for executing grilled menu items with precision and consistency in a high-volume kitchen. The ideal candidate has experience cooking proteins such as blackened salmon, lamb chops, burgers, chicken, and seafood while consistently achieving proper temperatures and doneness levels.

Primary Responsibilities

Grill proteins according to company recipes and specifications
Perform temperature checks
Cook proteins to proper doneness
Maintain grill station
Assist with prep and stocking
Support kitchen team during service
Participate in all end-of-shift closing responsibilities to ensure the kitchen is clean, organized, and ready for the next day. Closing duties may include dishwashing, cleaning equipment and workstations, taking out trash, restocking supplies, and assisting fellow team members as needed.

Required Qualifications

Minimum 2 years of grill cook experience required
Proven experience grilling items such as fish, steaks/chops, and burgers
Strong understanding of cooking temperatures, doneness levels, and food safety standards
Ability to accurately perform and document temperature checks
Ability to work quickly and efficiently in a high-volume kitchen
Strong attention to detail and consistency
Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
Ability to prioritize tasks and work under pressure
Strong teamwork and communication skills

Physical Requirements

Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs
Comfortable working in a hot, fast-paced kitchen environment

Must be able to consistently hit medium, medium-well, and well temperatures without supervision
