Commercial Sourcing Analyst

Location: Hybrid – Columbus, OH or Manhattan, NY

About the Opportunity

We are seeking a detail-oriented Commercial Sourcing Analyst to join a fast-paced Global Vendor Management organization supporting new product commercialization. This contract position provides critical coverage during maternity leaves and will partner closely with the Commercial Sourcing team to ensure new product launches remain on schedule and within target cost objectives.

This role serves as a key liaison across Merchandising, Product Development, Packaging, Planning, Commercialization, Operations, and external vendor partners. The ideal candidate enjoys working with data, collaborating across multiple business functions, and supporting product launches from concept through commercialization.

What You'll Do

As a Commercial Sourcing Analyst, you will support the sourcing and costing activities that drive successful new product launches, with an initial focus on the Lip category.

Responsibilities

Support sourcing and costing activities throughout the product development lifecycle for new product launches.
Prepare and communicate finished goods cost estimates—including components, bulk, packaging, and fill costs—to Merchandising and Planning partners.
Partner with suppliers, component manufacturers, and contract fillers to obtain, validate, and negotiate product costs.
Analyze vendor quotations and investigate pricing discrepancies to ensure accurate costing.
Assist in developing target cost models and preparing Request for Quote (RFQ) documentation.
Manage RFQ submissions and acceptances within company systems.
Utilize SAP and PLM tools to complete cost roll activities, enabling timely purchase order creation.
Participate in weekly cross-functional Launch Readiness meetings to communicate costing status and identify potential risks.
Collaborate with Planning teams to establish sourcing and purchasing strategies based on forecasted demand and seasonality.
Attend Product Development and Merchandising meetings to support assortment changes, product agility requests, and costing updates.
Maintain accurate sourcing documentation, reporting, and system data.
Support evolving business priorities and additional sourcing initiatives as business needs change.

QualificationsRequired

Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Finance, Merchandising, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
Experience supporting sourcing, procurement, supply chain, product development, merchandising, or vendor management activities.
Basic working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, including reporting, spreadsheets, and data analysis.
Familiarity with SAP, PLM systems, or similar ERP/product lifecycle management platforms.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to prioritize multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred

Experience supporting retail, beauty, consumer products, manufacturing, or CPG organizations.
Experience working with vendors, contract manufacturers, or packaging suppliers.
Knowledge of product costing, sourcing strategies, procurement processes, or RFQ management.
Experience participating in cross-functional product launch or commercialization initiatives.
