Full Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Program Specialist

LOCATION: Columbus

REPORTS TO: Senior Manager, Community Engagement and Partnerships

POSITION SUMMARY:

Facilitates and delivers programs in schools and community settings. Facilitates such programming in underserved communities, allowing girls the opportunity to participate in Girl Scouts. Work closely with part-time program presenters and volunteers in delivering programs.

SKILLS:

Proven experience in delivering youth programs; human relations and customer service; teaching and presentation skills; public speaking; Microsoft Office, and council computer software. Must exhibit excellent organizational skills. Ability to successfully manage multiple priorities while meeting designated deadlines. Must exhibit high energy, positive attitude and enthusiasm. Ability to work both independently and as part of a team is a must.

ACCOUNTABLILITIES:

Deliver girl-centric program initiatives that focus on self-esteem, girl aggression, financial literacy, outdoor education and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
Provide support and training to part-time program presenters and volunteers to deliver high quality programs in diverse settings.
Assist with securing potential community partners and maintaining relevant program information for potential locations, surveys, evaluations and training.
Develop a rapport with community partners and girls served through programming.
Maintain relevant program information for potential locations, surveys, evaluations and training.
Understand and operate within Girl Scout policies, standards, and procedures to provide an informal, value centered, educational experience to the members.
Actively support the Council's commitment to diversity and equal employment opportunity policy.
Assist with special projects and all other duties as assigned.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

College courses in education or equivalent experience.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working with youth, delivering programs for youth an understanding program progression and support of a girl-centric environment.
Demonstrated experience in developing community relationships.
Good character, integrity, ability to adapt, enthusiasm, a sense of humor, patience and self-control.
Proficient in Microsoft Office, social media council computer software and platforms. Proven time management and prioritization skills.
Ability to build and maintain relationships.
Manage a flexible work schedule that includes evenings and weekends at variety of locations.
Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Background check required. Personal vehicle, valid driver’s license and current insurance.

JOB CLASSIFICATION/

RATE: Non-Exempt-$18/hr.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 per hour
