Full Job Description

Pataskala Oaks Care Center is looking for professional line cooks to prepare home-style food, following dietician approved menus and recipes for our residents. Diet consistencies may be regular, mechanical soft, puree as well as a few others. The cook's duties will consist of assisting the Dietary Manager to ensure meals are on time, hot, and appealing to the residents. The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction.

This position is required to work every other weekend and will have a set schedule, which will repeat every 2 weeks. Our pay cycle is every 2 weeks.

Morning shift hours: 5:30am - 2:00pm (hiring 1 FT and 1 PT Cook)

Afternoon shift hours: 11:30am - 7:30pm (hiring 1 PT Cook)

Additional benefits:

We offer a $1.50/hour perfect attendance bonus paid out every 2 weeks.
Pay in lieu of benefits package is $1.65/hour on top of base rate of pay. (if you opt out of health insurance, paid-time-off (PTO), paid holidays, etc.)

Responsibilities

Set up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies
Prepare food for service (e.g. chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces)
Cook all menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff
Answer, report and follow Dietary Director's direction.
Clean up station and take care of leftover food
Stock inventory appropriately
Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion
Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards
Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers

Skills

Proven cooking experience, including experience as a line chef, restaurant cook or prep cook
Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures
Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
Familiar with industry’s best practices

Pay: $15.00 - $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16.0 – 40.0 per week
